Oriol Romeu has been impressed with new manager Ralph Hasenhüttl’s philosophy and feels, with time, it will have a hugely positive impact at Southampton.
Saints fell to a 1-0 defeat at Cardiff City in Hasenhüttls first game after two days of training under the new boss.
And with a full week to prepare for Arsenal at St Mary’s, Romeu believes the Austrian’s philosophy and desire to improve will come to fruition sooner rather than later.
“He’s been very good. I think he wants us to play with a high intensity and to react a lot quicker when we lose the ball which I think will make us a better team,” Romeu said.
“He wants us to change the way we’re playing. It’s a new mentality and a new manager with some completely different and new ideas.
“Once we get to play the style he wants, with the intensity he needs, I think we will be a great team and a team that’s going to be difficult to be beaten.”
