Southampton's youngsters were held by Norwich in Premier League 2 despite a dominant display at the hosts' Colney Training Centre.
Radhi Jaïdi, who praised the overall performance of his young side, was also disappointed that they weren't able to convert their dominance into maximum points, having also squandered a penalty late on.
Despite what perhaps felt like an opportunity missed, Saints rise to second in the table thanks to the point gained, and remain comfortably inside the league's play-off spots.
"We played very well first half," Jaïdi reflected. "The only disappointment is we didn't score any goals.
"We dominated the play, against a side who fielded some senior players, so I'm pleased with that aspect.
"We were very unlucky not to score with the chances we created. I praised the boys at half time, and asked for the same mentality second half.
"The result didn't necessarily follow, and I know Callum [Slattery] will be disappointed with the penalty miss but he'll bounce back stronger.
"We're still challenging at the top of the table, we're in a good place."
