Three Southampton players are set for competitive international action today, as the week’s games heat up.
First up is Mario Lemina, who is with Gabon for a crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at home to Mali (3pm GMT).
Gabon, who have won their last two matches in Group C, are currently third, but would go top of the standings with a win in what is their penultimate game.
The top two sides will qualify for the 2019 finals, with a trip to group leaders Burundi to follow this afternoon’s match for Lemina and Gabon.
This evening then sees two Saints in line for UEFA Nations League duty.
Cédric is with Portugal, as they visit Italy in League A’s Group 3 (7.45pm GMT).
Portugal are top of the standings, having won their opening two matches, and will ensure top spot and progress to the finals with a draw or better in Milan.
A defeat, and they will host Poland on Tuesday with all still to play for.
Elsewhere, Stuart Armstrong and Scotland are hoping to keep their hopes of promotion to League B alive, as they visit Albania (7.45pm GMT).
Victory tonight and then on Tuesday at home to Israel would see Scotland top League C’s Group 1.
We’ll have a full round-up of the day’s games later on southamptonfc.com.
