Mark Hughes did not shy away from the difficulties Southampton have been experiencing at home, ahead of the Premier League clash with Watford, but was bullish about his team's chances of ending their poor run this weekend.

Saints host the Hornets on Saturday afternoon, as they bid to win at St Mary's for the first time this season.

The game marks the team's final outing before the latest international break, with a big trip to Fulham following immediately afterwards.

"We've got a couple of games coming up that we feel we've got a real opportunity to get maximum points from, starting at the weekend with Watford," said Hughes.

"They're in good form, playing with a lot of confidence, but it's a team we should be looking to beat.

"Our home form is a concern, it needs to change very, very quickly. It's been too long in terms of getting maximum points here."

Hughes added: "Watford have got good talent, and we'll have to be aware of that, but I don't really want to talk too much about them, because it's more about what we're going to do at the weekend. If we're strong and play to our capabilities then we'll win."
