Saints Kicks Surprise Visit

This month our budding footballers at Newtown Youth & Community Centre, had the chance to meet two rising Saints stars. Goalkeepers Jack Rose and Harry Lewis popped by to talk all things Southampton, as well as save a few penalties.

Our participants gave it their best shot when trying to score penalties against the U23 goalkeepers. The best moments came when the footballs were put away and the duo answered questions from our group. 

The pair told the group that enjoying football when young is key to success. Working hard, determination and belief will only assist you too. After a few autographs, Harry and Jack departed leaving our participants inspired. 

Our Saints Kicks programme looks to engage with 8 – 19 year olds around Southampton to create a sporting habit that will keep children and young adults active, break down barriers and encourage communication. 

We offer free, drop in football sessions that take place in various communal areas around Southampton every week, including over school holidays.
