Southampton FC Women continued their perfect start to the season with a 9-0 victory over Newbury on Sunday.

Marieanne Spacey-Cale’s team visited their opponents in the Southern Region Women’s Football League Premier Division, storming to a comfortable success, as they cemented their position at the top of the standings.

Ella Pusey’s first-half double set them on the way, with Georgie Freeland adding another before half-time.

Pusey completed her hat-trick shortly before the hour mark, with Shannon Sievwright and Ellie Chaffe adding further goals quickly after.

Saints then netted another three late on, through Freeland, Chaffe and substitute Georgie Lowe.

Spacey-Cale’s side are back home next Sunday, as they host New Milton in league action, at 2pm GMT, with entry to AFC Totton’s Testwood Stadium free for Southampton Season Ticket holders, with general adult tickets £2, while concessions also go free. Full fixtures can be found here.
