It was a reserved weekend of loanee action for Southampton's representatives, given international commitments, although a couple of youngsters were still involved in club football.

Most notable was Jake Hesketh, who played 89 minutes of Burton Albion’s 1-0 success over struggling Bristol Rovers.

Ben Fox's first league goal snatched maximum spoils for the hosts at the Pirelli Stadium, turning smartly inside the box and firing home at the near post in stoppage time.

The points provide a welcome lift for the Midlands outfit, who rose a healthy three places into 15th in the League One table.

Elsewhere, young full-back Harrison Davis played 75 minutes as Tiverton Town were held to 1-1 draw with Farnborough in the Evo-Stik South.
