The result ensures that Jaídi’s youngsters have now won in five different competitions this season, a sign for the Tunisian that their hard work is paying off.

“It’s always good to win three points in any game,” he said. “That’s especially true in matches like this against a really, really strong opposition. Credit to the boys for a good result.

“Every little bit of hard work will pay off; we’ve picked up three points here and that will carry us over nicely into next week.

"We were perhaps a little erratic at times which cost us possession but we defended really well. Leeds are a good side with good individuals and movement off the ball and we dealt really well with their threat. We created a lot of chances to finish the game off and could have done that even before they scored the equaliser.

“We had a good level of performance even in the two defeats recently and we were unlucky with the goals that we conceded. The reaction of the boys was really good but I was expecting that. We had to work hard for it; the focus level during the week was really good and the commitment from the boys here tonight was great.”
