Young defender Kayne Ramsay made the switch to Southampton from Chelsea a year ago, and has since been impressing in the club's Under-18s setup - so much so that this week marks the signing of his first professional deal.
The 17-year-old knows that this is only the first step towards realising the dream of a career in football, but has had some valuable advice along the way from some of Saints' seasoned pros.
Both James Ward-Prowse and Ryan Bertrand have had influence on the youngster's recent development, and a determined Ramsay is now keen to demonstrate what he's learnt.
"For sure, this is the right place for me," he explained. "The club have supported me on and off the pitch. There's always people to help and guide you if you're struggling.
"I've got to keep working hard and I'm able to show my experience now. I'm starting to lead the team a bit more.
"When I get the chance I'll be ready to take it, to show what I can do. I have realistic dreams, I don't think too far into the future, just focus on what's ahead of me.
"The target for this season is to play 30 games. A mixture of Under-18s and Under-23s fixtures.
"Players like James Ward-Prowse and Ryan Bertrand have helped me when I've trained with the first-team.
"I went out onto the pitch early, and Prowsey told me to relax and train the same way as always, don't try and do something you wouldn't normally do. He's been through it all and wants to help the younger players."
