It was a busy night of action for three of Southampton's international cohort, with Moi Elyounoussi, Angus Gunn and Cédric all on duty for their respective countries.

England's Under-21s played out a first v second clash at Carrow Road in Euro Qualifying, with Saints' newest stopper Gunn an unused substitute against the Netherlands.

The Three Lions were group leaders heading into the game, and maintained their dominance with a goalless draw, as Aidy Boothroyd's men continue to hold a five-point advantage over the Dutch.

Elsewhere, Cédric's Portugal, who had never previously conceded a goal to Croatia, played out a lively 1-1 draw with the World Cup runners-up, who took the lead inside 20 minutes through Ivan Perisic, before being pegged back by Pepe.

Cédric was another unused substitute, with Juventus' João Cancelo taking up the right-back position.

Elyounoussi's Norway faced Cyprus, and were involved in Europe’s newest international competition on the opening night of UEFA Nations League action.

The meeting was the tenth matchup between the two countries, with Norway winning all of the previous nine, and indeed tonight's meeting was no different as Lars Lagerbäck's side emerged 2-0 victors.

Fulham's Stefan Johansen netted both goals in the first half for Norway, with Elyounoussi completing a full complement of 90 minutes.
