Under-23s coach Radhi Jaïdi was pleased to maintain his side's unbeaten record on the road at Fulham in their latest Premier League 2 encounter.

Craven Cottage played host to the tie, where Saints had taken the lead early in the second period, before a leveller from the hosts meant a share of the spoils for Jaïdi's youngsters.

Teenage striker Michael Obafemi netted the game's opener, and Jaïdi was full of praise for the frontman, who is enjoying a productive first season at Under-23s level.

"It was an acceptable result, given it was an away game against tough opposition," Jaïdi explained.

"They have quality in midfield and in wide areas, and I think we dealt with that well.

"The first half, we were quite hesitant off the ball. On the ball, we could have increased the tempo.

"I asked the boys to liven up at half time, push higher and switch the play. And work harder to exploit the space in wide areas, which we did.

"Bit disappointed with the goal we conceded but we'll take joint responsibility for that. It's a positive result, one point keeps us unbeaten.

"Michael has great potential, he's always a threat. He's learning about the game, and the final third - give him a little bit of time and he'll be one of our most effective academy players."
