Radhi Jaïdi's Under-23s are focussed on extending their unbeaten run when they meet Fulham at Craven Cottage in Premier League 2 on Saturday afternoon.
Saints have registered three wins and a draw thus far, and coach Jaïdi has been especially pleased with the confidence that both results and levels of performance has installed in his young side.
"I'm really pleased with the start of the season," he began. "I think the boys have applied themselves extremely well and worked hard throughout.
"We've approached every game with strong character and good resilience. I want to see that maintained.
"When you play with confidence you can go and challenge any team.
"It's not only been earned by results, but the way we've played and the manner of our performances.
"One of the challenges at this age group is keeping consistency, it isn't easy. It needs a lot of hard work inside and outside of the pitch.
"Professionals are born outside the pitch. It's about attitude, behaviours and commitment. If you have all those focusses it transfers onto the pitch.
"We've worked hard this week to prepare for a tough run of fixtures. We'll take that to Fulham on Saturday and begin preparing to compete in the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday."
