Southampton's latest young signing Alexandre Jankewitz has been pleased with the club's warm welcome as he begins to settle into life on the south coast.
Having completed a move from Swiss side Servette FC, the highly rated midfielder explained that he's excited to start a new chapter of his career, having arrived in England earlier this month.
With long term eyes on the first team, the 16-year-old will begin playing in the club's professional development phase, and compete for the Under-23s once international clearance has been approved.
"It's a pleasure to be here and I'm very excited to begin something new. A new life and I can't wait," the youngster began.
"Everyone has been very friendly and they've given me a great welcome.
"I'm a box-to-box player. I like defending as much as attacking. My target is to play as many games for the U23s as I can and then we will see what happens from there.
"In the long term, I want to give my best to try and break into the first team as quickly as possible."
