Radhi Jaïdi has called upon his side to maintain the high standards they have set so far during the Premier League 2 campaign when they meet Manchester United at Staplewood Campus.
Saints have made a blistering start, winning all of their games this term, including a 1-0 success over Dinamo Zagreb in the Premier League International Cup.
And, while winning is not always the measure of success when developing players to be ready for the first-team environment, Jaïdi is keen that there is no let up.
“We’ve been really pleased with the level of application, as it has been really high. With that, the energy and the hard work that the boys have put in since the start of the season is amazing,” Jaïdi reflected.
“What we’re looking for now is just the consistency to keep the standards high and making sure everything we do is at a high level."
Opponents Manchester United arrive off the back of a 3-1 victory over Aston Villa, with Angel Gomes netting his second goal in as many games, and Jaïdi is anticipating an entertaining encounter given the vast array of attacking talent on offer.
“It will be tough opposition but I’m expecting a good game because both teams try and play the right way," he said.
“They have quality players, especially upfront and they have good rotation in the middle, so we need to deal with it.
“I’m expecting our boys to respond positively and perform at the highest level to make sure we get the result.”
