Radhi Jaïdi is confident his young side have plenty more to offer after tonight's comfortable 2-0 victory over Middlesbrough.
Saints were made to work for their openings, waiting until the 71st minute to break the deadlock, and Jaïdi was particularly pleased with his side's patient approach to both goals.
The three points not only means Saints' Premier League 2 campaign got off to a positive start, but provides the perfect dose of confidence heading into Tuesday's debut International Cup appearance against Dinamo Zagreb.
"The player's attitude and the hard work they put on the pitch pleased me most.
"They had to be patient, and applied everything we asked of them in terms of a game plan. Of course there are some bits we need to improve on, but overall the boys delivered a good performance tonight.
"We had to deal with their physicality and direct play, which we did well.
"We addressed things at half time, passing with more tempo and it improved.
"This is only the start. Three points will open the door for us. We're full of confidence. Tuesday is a different competition and the Zagreb game will be an exciting moment for us.
"It is really positive, it means the team is defending as a unit. We kept our discipline and worked hard.
"Overall, we managed the game very well."
