Under-18s lead coach Danny Butterfield will be leaving Southampton Football Club to take up a first-team coaching position at MK Dons.

Butterfield, who has been with the club in a coaching capacity for the past two seasons, reunites with former Exeter teammate and co-manager Paul Tisdale, who took over at the Dons in June.

The League Two side began their 2018/19 campaign with a 2-1 win over Oldham last Saturday, and Butterfield is set to arrive at Stadium MK ahead of their first home clash, against Bury, this weekend.

The club would like to thank Danny for his service, as a player – where he helped the club achieve promotion to the Championship in 2011 and Premier League in 2012 – and subsequently as a coach, and wish him all the best for the future.

As a result, Paul Hardyman, who joined Saints this summer from Watford, takes up the position of lead Under-18s coach on an interim basis, and will be in charge of the youngsters' league opener against Chelsea this Saturday.
