Saints Foundation help grassroots clubs launch new kit

By SFC Media Thu 28 Jun Saints Foundation

Local grassroots clubs, Romsey Town Youth FC & Littleton Junior FC, thought that they were just going to be playing in a normal football match…..

Southampton Football Club and Saints Foundation worked together to make the local clubs, who are partners of Saints Foundation through its Club Coaching programme, the first to wear the new season’s kit.

Saints Legends Matt Le Tissier & Francis Benali stepped in to coach the teams and each player played in a personalised home or away kit provided by Official Technical Supplier, Under Armour.

Tom Grevatt, Senior Project Officer for Saints Foundation said, “It was amazing to be able to extend this sort of opportunity to our partner clubs, the relationship between the club and community is what made this event possible and so special for these local teams. It is something they will never forget. Hopefully Saints Foundation can offer other exciting opportunities for our grassroot partner clubs in the future!”

The grassroots clubs were delighted with how the day went and had this to say, “A quick note from myself and all at RTYFC to say a massive thank you for a great day yesterday at the kit launch. Clearly, a lot of work went into the day and the lads and girls had a brilliant time - what a fantastic experience for them. A 'money can’t buy', never to be forgotten day.” Romsey Town Youth FC

“Everyone had a fantastic time and were simply buzzing after the day's events.” Littleton Junior FC
