World Cup fever has gripped the nation, nowhere more so than at Bassett Green Primary School.
As part of our Premier League Primary Stars programme, we delivered a special World Cup themed communication workshop for 250 of the school’s pupils across Years 4-6.
After an official opening ceremony with each nation’s flag, pupils participated in several different football-based games with a communications twist.
Casual Assistant Development Centre Coach Ed Kilby said: “As part of the World Cup, we are encouraging pupils to take part in various communication games, whilst having a little bit of fun as well.
“We’ve got various scenarios and challenges that the pupils are facing. The first one was that they couldn’t talk at all.
“This meant they were looking at different ways that they had to communicate as well as looking at positive encouragement and how they can support each other on and off the pitch.
“Hopefully by having this experience on the pitch, they can take that back into the classroom again."
