Southampton’s Cédric will be looking to take a step towards the World Cup knockout stages when his Portugal team meet Morocco at the Luzhniki Stadium this afternoon.

The wing-back featured for the full 90 minutes in a confident showing in Friday’s thrilling 3-3 draw with Spain which arguably remains the match of the tournament so far.

The Portuguese will be hoping that a follow up performance at 1pm this afternoon will secure a vital three points against a Morocco side who conceded an agonising late own goal to fall at the hands of Iran last time out.

A positive result for either side in Moscow would put pressure firmly on Spain and Iran in the race to qualify from Group B, who face off later in the day at 7pm in Kazan.

In yesterday's games, Maya Yoshida and Japan held their nerve to edge past ten-man Colombia 2-1 before Jan Bednarek's Poland lost by the same scoreline to Senegal.
