Olomola makes Scunthorpe switch

Southampton forward Olufela Olomola has today joined League One side Scunthorpe United on a free transfer.

The 20-year-old striker, who made one appearance for Saints, replacing Jay Rodriguez in the 26th minute of the EFL Cup tie against Sunderland during the 2016/17 campaign, has signed a three-year deal at Glanford Park.

Last season, Olomola spent time on loan in League Two with Yeovil Town, where he scored seven goals in 28 appearances under the stewardship of Darren Way.

Scunthorpe recently lost out 4-2 on aggregate in the League One play-offs to Rotherham United and will be hoping for another promotion push next season.
