Matt Targett made a huge contribution as Fulham booked their place in the Championship play-off final at Wembley with a 2-0 success against Derby County at Craven Cottage.
Looking to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg at Pride Park, the hosts dominated proceedings to send them on their way to the national stadium for the first time since the 1975 FA Cup final.
The breakthrough came on 47 minutes when Targett’s cross was cushioned down by Stefan Johansen to Ryan Sessegnon, who fired the ball into the top corner past Scott Carson.
On 66 minutes, Sessegnon turned provider when his corner delivery was flicked in by Denis Odoi.
Targett was withdrawn ten minutes later to a standing ovation, with Tomas Kalas replacing him as Slaviša Jokanović opted to switch his system to three centre-backs.
