Nathan Redmond says Southampton must keep grinding after they were cruelly denied all three points in a 1-1 draw at Everton.
Redmond’s header from Cédric’s cross looked to have won it for Mark Hughes’s men, before Tom Davies’s deflected goal deep into added time earned a point for the hosts after Maya Yoshida had been dismissed.
But after a superb display, the winger insisted there is no time to rue the result ahead of a huge clash at Swansea on Tuesday night.
“When Maya got sent off, we knew we had to stick in there and just grind it out. I felt comfortable we were going to see that through,” Redmond reflected.
“I think sometimes when we look back on the games and how they’ve panned out we do realise we’ve missed a lot of opportunities to take points.
“Today, we could say it’s one of those but it takes a deflection of Wes and we’re unlucky. We’ve been very unlucky with stuff like that.
“We can’t and we have never looked on that and felt hard done by. We just know we have to keep grinding.
“We feel like we’ve lost two points but with a point it makes Tuesday’s game even bigger.”
