Radhi Jaïdi has called on Saints U23s to end the season on a high, beginning at Fulham on Friday night.
Jaïdi’s young charges sit in eighth place in the PL2 and require a maximum six points from their remaining two fixtures to have a chance of sealing a promotion play-off place.
Beaten by a last-minute winner at Blackburn in their last outing just over three weeks ago, the Tunisian is confident his team is ready to bounce back in west London.
“Since Blackburn, we’ve been working on fitness levels,” he said. “We wanted to keep the ball in that game but they were fitter and stronger.
“We’ve played a couple of friendlies and really pushed and challenged the boys more in training to address that.
“Fulham play in two or three different shapes, normally three at the back. They try not to overload in the midfield area. Hopefully we can be ready in tomorrow’s game.
“We need to finish on a high and we want maximum points to give us a chance to reach the play-offs.”
