Matt Targett's Fulham narrowed the gap on second-placed Cardiff to two points as Aleksandar Mitrovic's goal earned them a crucial win at Sheffield Wednesday.

The defender played a full complement of minutes, as Slaviša Jokanović's in-form side remain unbeaten since Targett's January arrival.

Remaining in the Championship, Harrison Reed played his part in Norwich's 3-1 victory over Aston Villa, providing a clever assist for Dennis Srbeny to net the Canaries' second in the 54th minute.

Norwich move to within eight points of the play-offs, but would realistically have to win their remaining five matches and hope other teams slip up to sneak into the top six.

In Scotland, young goalkeeper Harry Lewis registered another 90 minutes as Dundee United lost out 3-2 to Dumbarton. Centre-back Craig Barr scored twice as the visitors put a dent in Dundee's Championship play-off hopes.

Elsewhere, Marcus Barnes was an unused substitute during Yeovil's defeat to Luton, who moved one step closer to automatic promotion from League Two, while Jordy Clasie and Ollie Cook were also unused for Club Brugge and Barrow respectively.
