Steven Davis says Southampton's players must be honest with themselves as they prepare for Saturday's "massive" visit to West Bromwich Albion.

Saints missed the opportunity to climb out of the relegation zone on Wednesday night, as they drew 1-1 at home with Brighton.

After that disappointment, attention quickly turns to this weekend's trip to bottom-placed side West Brom.

"Between now and the end of the season, every game is going to be massive," said Davis. "There's a lot of teams fighting for the same objective.

"We haven't won enough games this season, we've got to be honest with ourselves, but we've got quality there that can get ourselves out of this position and it's only us that can do that.

"We've got a lot of games coming up like this one, and the game [against Brighton] was exactly like that."

While West Brom may be at the foot of the table, Davis expects a more confident side than that position suggests, especially following their FA Cup win at Liverpool last weekend.

"They got a lot of confidence from the result last week against Liverpool, so it's going to be tough, but we have to show our qualities and try to go in there to get the three points, because that's the only thing that's going to get us out of this position.

"It's not a position we want to be in and we just need to keep pushing ourselves to try to get out of that and stay together, and I'm sure we'll do that."
