Mauricio Pellegrino has confirmed that late decisions will be made on the fitness of Ryan Bertrand and Guido Carrillo ahead of Wednesday's Premier League encounter with Brighton.
The England international was prematurely withdrawn for Jérémy Pied during Saturday's win over Watford in the Emirates FA Cup while striker Carrillo made his club debut from the bench in the closing eight minutes.
Southampton boss Pellegrino is hopeful that both players will play an important part against the Seagulls in two days' time.
"Ryan was taken off during the game the other day but he is much better today. He will try and get ready tomorrow and we will see what condition he is in.
"Guido came off the bench for us on Saturday and maybe is not yet at 100 per cent. Like Ryan, we will have another look at him tomorrow."
The Argentinian also delivered some positive news regarding Charlie Austin.
Saints' leading scorer has been sidelined since reporting a hamstring injury in December's 1-1 draw with Huddersfield and "is back on the pitch training, something that is really good news for us."
