The international action concludes for Southampton’s first-team players today, with another host of big games on the schedule.

First up, Maya Yoshida and Japan host Haiti in a friendly, in Yokohama (11.30am BST), as they continue their early preparations for the 2018 World Cup.

Mario Lemina, whose Gabon side saw their hopes of reaching next summer’s tournament extinguished a few days ago, also have a friendly today, as they take on Benin, in France (3pm BST).

The qualifying action then begins from 5pm BST, when Jan Bednarek and Poland Under-21s visit their Lithuania counterparts, as they continue their campaign to seal a place in the 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.

Poland drew 3-3 with Finland on Friday, and will hope to cut the gap on Group 3 leaders Denmark to just two points this evening.

The FIFA World Cup qualifying then starts from 7.45pm BST, with Cédric and Portugal in the game of the night, at home to Switzerland.

The winner will claim top spot in Group B and automatic qualification for Russia 2018, with the other nation heading into the play-offs.

For Portugal, only a win will do, as three points will see them leapfrog the Swiss on goal difference.

Wesley Hoedt and Virgil van Dijk could also be in action, as Netherlands host Sweden (7.45pm BST). The hopes of the Dutch are pretty much at an end, with only a 12-goal swing over their opponents enough to see them into a play-off.

Elsewhere, some of Saints' youngsters could be in action, with Jonathan Afolabi, Michael Obafemi and Thomas O'Connor with Republic of Ireland Under-19s for their home UEFA European Championship qualifier with Serbia, while Callum Watts and Wales Under-17s visiting Hungary in European Championship qualifying (both 1pm BST).

Sean Brennan and Kameron Ledwidge are also with Republic of Ireland Under-17s, as they host Azerbaijan in Euro qualifying (2pm BST).
