Radhi Jaïdi hailed a disciplined away performance as his Southampton Under-23s side made it back-to-back successes in Premier League 2.
Sam McQueen got the decisive strike from the penalty spot after Jonathan Afolabi was brought down in the box.
Jaïdi reflected: “It’s really pleasing and it’s good to keep the momentum from last week.
“We spoke to the boys about maintaining the momentum from a good performance and victory last week against Stoke and they responded really well to that.
“I told them before the game about keeping a clean sheet, particularly in an away game where you have to stop conceding and then look for your opportunities.
“We had a great number of set-plays and we should have scored from one of them, which was frustrating but at least we got the opportunities in the second-half and we controlled the game.”
