Mauricio Pellegrino has confirmed positive news on Virgil van Dijk, who is training with the first-team again, with the Saints boss also reporting that he has no injury concerns following the latest international break.
Southampton defender van Dijk, who has not played since January 22nd, is training with the squad again, although Pellegrino has indicated he might need a bit more time on the training pitch before featuring in first-team match action.
“Now he is training with the team again,” said Pellegrino.
“It's good news, because now everything is normal. I think, obviously, Virgil is coming back from a long period of time and he needs to train and to play games to settle back again, but it's good news for us.”
The positive news continued ahead of Saturday's Premier League fixture at home to Watford, with all of Southampton’s international players returning to Staplewood without any injury issues.
“Matt Targett had some trouble last week, but now he’s ok,” said Pellegrino. “I think 100 per cent of the squad is ready.”
