After a dominant display in Mauricio Pellegrino’s first game in charge against Swansea, Saints head into this one looking for their first victory of the season.

They had to settle for a point in the 0-0 draw despite fashioning a number of opportunities, including Manolo Gabbiadini hitting the woodwork.

Visitors West Ham will be looking to bounce back after their 4-0 defeat against Manchester United on the opening day of the campaign.


Southampton: Mauricio Pellegrino has no injury concerns for the visit of West Ham, with Ryan Bertrand having recovered from the knock he sustained against Swansea.

Alex McCarthy is also back fit after featuring the under-23s 4-0 success against Reading.

West Ham United: Michail Antonio is expected to return to the squad after coming through a Premier League clash with Everton on Friday.

Elsewhere, Andy Carroll, Manuel Lanzini and Cheikhou Kouyate all remain sidlined.

Marko Arnautovic was a club-record signing for the Hammers this summer from Stoke City.

The 28-year-old consistently impressed for his former club in the top-flight and will be looking to make an instant impact for Slaven Billic’s men.

An Austrian international, Arnautovic scored 26 times and registered 32 assists in 126 games for Stoke.

Former Saint Michail Antonio top-scored last season for this weekend’s visitors and he will also be a threat from wide areas.
