Southampton club captain Steven Davis has been confirmed in the Northern Ireland squad ahead of their upcoming games against New Zealand and Azerbaijan.

The midfielder, who also skippers his country, is in the group selected by Michael O’Neill for another big week or so for the Irish.

First up is a friendly at home to New Zealand on Friday 2nd June (7.45pm BST), which is the warm-up to the World Cup qualifier away to Azerbaijan, on Saturday 10th June (5pm BST).

Northern Ireland are currently second at the halfway point of Group C, with ten points from their opening five matches.

Three of those came when they thumped Azerbaijan 4-0, in Belfast, earlier in the campaign, and another victory against the same opponents would further spark dreams of them reaching the 2018 World Cup finals, in Russia.
