Steven Davis is hoping Southampton can finish with a flourish this weekend with a final day success against Stoke City at St Mary’s.
Saints go into the game knowing all three points would secure a top eight finish in the Premier League.
And after being frustrated against Manchester United in midweek, the captain is keen to go away for the summer with momentum.
“It’s always nice to have a home game to finish and you want to go off on your break on a high. It’s an opportunity for us to do that,” Davis said.
“There were a lot of positives to take from the other night (against Manchester United). We were frustrated we couldn’t take three points but we go again against Stoke.
Claude Puel’s side have struggled for home goals of late, but with an array of attacking talent at their disposal, Davis feels there have been positive signs.
“We created chances against United but couldn’t take that. If we keep the same attitude and keep making chances then ultimately one is going to go into the back of the net,” he reflected.
“Hopefully we can do that this weekend and send the fans home happy.”
