James Ward-Prowse says Southampton are determined to finish off the season in style, with two home games left to play.
After the 2-1 success at Middlesbrough, Claude Puel’s men meet Manchester United in their penultimate fixture with a top eight finish well within their sights.
Couple that with an EFL Cup final appearance against Wednesday’s opponents and Ward-Prowse feels the season can be classed as a success.
“It’s been a very challenging season for us but if you look back I think it has been very successful,” Ward-Prowse reflected.
“With the group of players we’ve got, we want to make sure we’re achieving a lot higher places.
“Taking all things into consideration, I feel it’s been a good season and we’ll look to finish it off in style.
“It’s the end of a long, tough season now and these last couple of games are very important in terms of where we want to finish in the table.
“We knew that the Middlesbrough game was important and it would stand us in good stead for the last two.”
