Dušan Tadić says he is enjoying his football in his preferred central role, as Southampton prepare to welcome Manchester City in the Premier League.
A system change earlier in the season to a 4-2-3-1 has ignited a scintillating run of form for the Serbian playmaker, who has had a hand in five goals in his last six Premier League appearances with one goal and four assists.
“It has helped me a lot. I think this is my best position in this system and I can show my qualities best and be important for the team,” Tadić reflected
“I think this has shown in the last couple of games and before that. I’m happy because of that and happy that we take points and we’re playing good.”
Saints come up against Pep Guardiola’s men, who are still on the hunt for a Champions League spot in the Spaniard’s first season in charge.
The reverse at the Etihad Stadium ended 1-1, and Tadić is anticipating an exciting encounter.
He added: “We had a lot of chances in that game on the counter-attack but I think this time it will be different.
“It will be an open game and everything is possible.”
