Jérémy Pied says he is hoping to contribute to the team in the final few weeks of the season, after his return to action against Liverpool in Premier League 2.
The defender played an hour in Southampton Under-23s 2-2 draw at St Mary’s, as he continues his recovery from a long-term cruciate injury.
And having come through his first competitive action unscathed, Pied is now hungry for more.
“It was good. It was a good game and we worry about the result of course, but for me personally it was a good 60 minutes and I felt good,” Pied reflected.
“I was very excited because I was the bench for the first-team in the last two games, which were two good results.
“It’s been a long time without football and I know there is not a long time before the end of the season but I have time to give my best and bring something to the team.
“I would like to continue to win with the first-team and if I have another game with the Under-23s, hopefully I can help them to stay in the league.”
