Claude Puel says his side must get back to being more clinical if they are to overcome an in-form Crystal Palace side in the Premier League.
Saints were frustrated by AFC Bournemouth in a goalless draw at St Mary’s, after creating a number of first-half opportunities.
And Puel is expecting another battle against Sam Allardyce’s men, who are fresh off the back of an away win at league leaders Chelsea.
“It’s important now to try to have good results. It’s important now to find a good balance, to find a clinical edge because we haven’t scored in the last game,” Puel said.
“There’s a good spirit in the team, we try to play good football and these three games, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and West Brom are all difficult.
“They are all direct opponents who are with confidence after good recent results. Crystal Palace have won their last games including the win over Chelsea.
“It’s important we have a good focus and concentration about this strong team. They are physical and good on the counter-attack.
“We need to give a good response on Wednesday.”
