Jason McCarthy netted a late brace to secure a point for Walsall in a dramatic 3-3 draw away to Bury on Saturday.
The hosts shot to a 2-0 lead thanks to strikes from James Vaughan and Reece Brown, before Erhun Otzumer netted in the 71st minute to set up a pulsating climax.
Five minutes later, McCarthy belted in his fifth of the season from Amadou Bakayoko’s cut back to level proceedings.
The Saints defender then put the Saddlers on the road to three points on 79 minutes as he headed Isaiah Osbourne’s cross past Rob Lainton in the Bury goal.
There was to be one final cruel twist, however, as Tom Soares pounced on Reece Brown’s cross in stoppage time to rescue a point for the Shakers.
The draw moves Walsall up to 12th in the League One table.
There was also a goal for Sam Gallagher this weekend, as he helped Blackburn into the fifth round of the FA Cup with a victory over Blackpool.
The Saints loanee headed in after just nine minutes at Ewood Park to give the hosts the lead and claim his 10th goal of the season.
Rovers’ lead was then doubled ten minutes later when Elliott Bennett lashed arguably the goal of the round into Sam Slocombe’s top corner from outside the penalty area.
Blackburn are ball number 13 for the fifth round draw, which takes place this evening on BBC One at 7:20pm.
In Spain, Paulo Gazzaniga could do little to prevent Rayo Vallecano falling to a 2-1 defeat away to Real Valladolid.
Despite taking an early lead through Manucho Gonçalves, the hosts fought back and scored two goals within four minutes.
José Arnáiz slipped in on 62 minutes before Juan Villar then finished past Gazzaniga to complete the turnaround.
The defeat sees Rayo Vallecano sit 17th in the Spanish Segunda División, just one point clear of the relegation zone.
