Claude Puel says he’ll wait until Friday to make decisions on his team for the game against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
After losing to Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night, and spending much of the second half with ten men, Saints will now face the Baggies at St Mary’s.
With Nathan Redmond suspended and a fixture against Everton just 48 hours after, Puel says he’ll wait until Friday to assess the fitness levels of his team.
“I don’t know yet. I have not made a decision because it is just one day after the disappointment of the game against Tottenham,” Puel said.
“We will see with calm tomorrow to analyse all of this and take into consideration the possibilities to play the first game against West Bromwich.
“Two days after we then have a second game away against Everton, of course.
“This is difficult, but it’s important to stay with a good concentration about this first game.”
Puel also confirmed Saints will not be appealing Redmond’s red card, adding: “I think it’s a decision and after for me it’s finished.
“It is always difficult to come back and see other things. Now it’s important to think about the next game without Nathan.
“We will recover him I hope for Everton, but now it’s important to only prepare for this game.”
