Young Saints fans enjoy kitman experience

By SFC Media time Wed 09 Nov Saints Foundation

Two young Southampton fans were involved in the first-team action when Chelsea visited St Mary’s.

Billy and George lent Saints’ kitmen Mark Forbes and Jamie Ireland a helping hand in preparing for the Premier League fixture against Antonio Conte’s men.

As part of the experience, which was auctioned off at the Player Awards back in May, the pair helped to transport the kit and set up the dressing room ahead of the Sunday match.

They got the opportunity to meet their favourite players, Virgil Van Dijk and Jay Rodriguez, in the tunnel on matchday and received a signed shirt from both players.

As the final part of the experience, Billy and George then graced the St Mary’s turf just moments before kick-off to help collect the players’ warm-up shirts.

All of the money raised from auctioning this prize has been donated to Saints Foundation and Mary’s Meals.
