Shane Long came off the bench to set up a goal for Republic of Ireland, but couldn't prevent them losing 2-1 at home to Belarus.
The Saints striker was introduced midway through the half at Turner's Cross – the home stadium of his first professional club, Cork City – with Martin O'Neill's side already 2-0 down.
It took just five minutes for him to make a telling contribution, as he took down a ball in the area, held off a defender and laid a pass off to Stephen Ward to finish.
Unfortunately for Ireland, though, they were unable to find an equaliser in what was their final warm-up match before EURO 2016.
Belarus's goals came in either half, with a stunning strike from Mikhail Hardzeichuk followed by Maksim Valadzko's driven effort.
