A group of charitable cyclists successfully completed Saints Foundation’s Big Bike Challenge on the final day of the Premier League season.
A total of 68 riders, 48 of whom were representing Saints Foundation while the other 20 were riding for Crystal Palace’s Foundation, completed the 79-mile journey from Selhurst Park to St Mary’s Stadium – including Saints legend Franny Benali!
The riders set off just after 4am on Sunday 15th May from their base in London, with the first riders arriving at the home of Saints at just after 11am. Thanks to club partners Garmin, the riders were provided with GPS devices that helped them navigate their way safely through the challenge.
A staggering £26,557.01 has been raised so far by Saints Foundation fundraisers, with more still to come!
Saints Foundation would like to thank Golf at Pinkies for providing refreshments and volunteers for the riders at the East Meon checkpoint, as well as the Gym in Southampton High Street, who kindly donated the use of their showers to riders after the challenge.
The riders were all presented with a medal by Saints Foundation for their fantastic efforts, while they also took part in a well-deserved lap of honour at half time during the game against Crystal Palace.
