Tadić plays key role in Serbia win

By SFC Media time Wed 25 May Club

Dušan Tadić carried his fine club form onto the international stage, as he helped Serbia to a friendly victory against Cyprus.

The Saints midfielder was recalled to the Serbia side for their post-season friendly, and produced the goods to help his nation to victory.

Tadić was involved from the off, setting up Newcastle United’s Aleksandar Mitrović to score in just the second minute of the match.

The midfielder’s deflected effort from the edge of the box made it 2-0 soon after, as Serbia put themselves in control with just over ten minutes gone.

Serbia’s lead was halved just after the 30-minute mark however, as Nikole Maksimovic put through his own net after a mix-up with his goalkeeper.

After an impressive 45 minutes, Tadić was replaced at half time, with Serbia going on to seal a 2-1 victory.
