Long, who has enjoyed a hugely successful season with Southampton, has been included in Martin O’Neill’s latest squad.

Ireland take on the Netherlands, in a game which could see Long come up against club teammate Virgil van Dijk, on Friday 27th May, with a kick-off time of 7.45pm BST.

Following the conclusion of the friendly, O’Neill will name his final 23-man squad for this summer’s European Championships in France.
