Fraser Forster says he feels fortunate to have worked with Kelvin Davis during his time at Southampton Football Club and will miss not being able to train with him.
Davis has been a focal point of the goalkeeping department at Saints for the past decade, and Forster says that although he’d only spent two seasons working with Davis, he’s someone who means a lot to the England stopper.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to train with him for the last two years and I am going to miss him,” he told reporters at Davis’s testimonial on Tuesday night.
“It’s obviously brilliant that he gets a send-off like that. Every player in football wants to be loved like that by a club’s fans.”
Southampton players past and present turned out in numbers to support Davis and Forster says everyone wanted to be there for him.
“Obviously it was all about Kelv tonight,” he said. “It was an emotional for him and you can see what it means for the club.
“From a player’s point of view, I don’t think there is a player that has a bad word to say about him. We all love him and he is such a good character.”
