Southampton Football Club is pleased to announce it has been awarded the Investors in People (IIP) accreditation.
The club is now one of 14,000 companies who have achieved the international standard after undergoing an assessment by an IIP practitioner in late January 2016.
A number of staff were interviewed about the club’s culture, working practices and development opportunities that can be achieved at Southampton.
The IIP’s feedback was impressive, stating that the “spirit of Investors in People” lives and breathes through the Southampton Way – our values and vision of developing people.
One of the club’s standout successes, noted within the final report, expresses the club’s commitment to benchmarking against other industries to seek opportunities for ideas to drive innovation and creativity.
The club’s recruitment, induction and performance development review programmes were highlighted as particular successes. The opportunity to develop yourself at Southampton Football Club, with the freedom to be creative, ensures that our people have the perfect platform to be successful.
Speaking about the award, chairman Ralph Krueger said: “We are extremely proud to have been awarded this accreditation, which has only been made possible through the fantastic work of every individual at the football club.
“As a club we are always looking to invest in the future, and in the development of our staff to ensure excellence is achieved throughout.
“This accreditation emphasises and acknowledges the fantastic working environment that we have been able to create throughout all areas of the club.”
