Van Dijk: We're in a good place ourselves

Virgil van Dijk believes Southampton can head to Leicester City full of confidence, despite the Foxes’ incredible season so far.

Claudio Ranieri’s side are currently five points clear at the top of the Barclays Premier League table with just seven games remaining, and van Dijk has been extremely impressed with the league leaders.

But the defender, who was speaking following the Netherlands’ 2-1 win over England at Wembley on Tuesday night, says Ronald Koeman’s men are in a good place themselves at present.

“It’s a big game for both teams. They are in a very good place, but we’re also trying to push for the European places,” van Dijk told youtube.com/southamptonfc.

“It’s going to be a very good game. I’m ready for it, and I think everyone will be ready for it come Sunday.

“Leicester have been amazing this year and everybody can see that.

“I think we have been very good lately and hopefully we can get a good result and be in the running for the European places.”
