Ronald Koeman hailed goalkeeper Fraser Forster as one of the best around after he helped Southampton earn a point against Arsenal at Emirates Stadium.
The England international, who has only played in four games following nine months out with injury, produced a wonderful display to deny the Gunners on a number of occasions.
Koeman was delighted with the performance of his number one, and believes it to be one of the best displays from a goalkeeper he’s ever seen.
“It was a massive performance from Fraser today. He was the key to get one point because normally we are not a defending team that allows opponents to create those kind of opportunities,” Koeman told youtube.com/southamptonfc.
“He saved three or four goals in the second half. That was massive and sometimes you need that goalkeeping and sometimes you need that luck.
“We new before Fraser is a big goalkeeper. He has an unbelievable level for a goalkeeper. He’s back and it’s a fourth clean sheet in a row.
“Maybe he gives confidence to the defenders and the defenders have a lot of confidence in the goalkeeper. When he came in he showed his qualities.
“That’s unbelievable after nine months out. We are very happy to have one of the best goalkeepers in our team,” continued Koeman.
“That was one of the best [displays]. You have other good goalkeepers, but for sure he will be back in the national team.”
