Members of Southampton's board, management and first team were at Staplewood on Thursday evening at the official launch of the club's partnership with Mary's Meals.

Owner Katharina Liebherr and chairman Ralph Krueger were joined by Mary's Meals founder and CEO Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow and Head of Saints Foundation Greg Baker in addressing a room full of fundraisers and invited guests.

Also among the crowd were Ronald Koeman, Erwin Koeman and Jan Kluitenberg, while club captain Kelvin Davis and team captain José Fonte also showed their support for the partnership.

Mary's Meals – which became the club's Official International Charity Partner at the end of last month – has a vision that every child should receive one daily meal in their place of education and that all those who have more than they need share with those who lack even the most basic things.

MacFarlane-Barrow spoke of how more than a million children are currently fed by Mary's Meals each day and added that it costs just £12.20 to feed a child for an entire school year, while Liebherr revealed that she first took an interest in the charity because its name reminded her of the club's stadium, St Mary's.

It was confirmed that the first team's matchday trainingwear will bear the Mary's Meal logo for the rest of this season, while there are a number of fundraising initiatives in place for this weekend's game against Aston Villa.

All ticket booking fees will be split between Mary's Meals and Saints Foundation, as will 50p from the sale of each matchday magazine, 15p from each hot food item and 10% of the Saints Megastore's gross profits.
