Koeman buoyed by attacking options

By SFC Media time Tue 01 Dec Club

Ronald Koeman is pleased with the range of attacking options at his disposal ahead of tomorrow’s Capital One Cup quarter-final against Liverpool, as Graziano Pellè returns from suspension.

The Saints striker missed the 3-1 defeat at Manchester City, after picking up a one-match ban for a fifth yellow card of the season, but is available again for the visit of the Reds.

Shane Long led the attack in his absence at the Etihad Stadium and netted the side’s only goal there, and, with Sadio Mané also in good form, Koeman is pleased to have been given a bit of a headache over the attacking positions.

"Shane did well [at Manchester City] and the whole team performance was on a good level in the second half,” Koeman told youtube.com/southamptonfc.

“But, ok, it's always the tactical choices and I'm happy to have those kind of options, because that's always what you like as a manager.”
