Ronald Koeman says his players have been doing extra work on their attacking this week – but he insists that he is not concerned by their recent goalscoring troubles.
Saints have netted just once in the last four games, leading Koeman and his staff to slightly tweak this week’s training sessions.
“Over the last few days we’ve been doing a little bit more movement in attack, and a little bit more finishing with players to give them the confidence,” Koeman revealed to the club’s official YouTube channel.
“Of course, it’s not always the same on the training ground as in the match, but they need the positive feeling about the qualities we have – but I’m not worried about that.
“We’re still creating opportunities, but a little bit of the sharpness is not like before,” he continued.
“At the beginning of the season we had a lot of midfield players scoring goals, and I’ve tried to explain that’s teamwork – it’s not about one striker or one player.
“We have to attack with the whole team and we have to defend with the whole team.”
